MCC 7399 is the Merchant Category Code for Business Services, Not Elsewhere Classified. Card networks assign it to business services, not elsewhere classified transactions, and your card issuer uses it — not the store name — to decide which bonus category, if any, applies to the purchase.
The catch-all for business services not covered by a more specific code: consultancies, B2B service providers, employment and staffing agencies, and professional services without a dedicated MCC. More specific codes win where they exist — MCC 7392 (Management, Consulting and Public Relations), MCC 8931 (Accounting and Bookkeeping) or MCC 8111 (Legal Services) post under their own codes, not 7399.
It is the four-digit code card networks assign to business services, not elsewhere classified transactions. Issuers read this code to apply bonus rewards.
See the ranking above — it shows each card’s rate on this code and whether the bonus is verified.
The transaction posts under the MCC the acquirer registered, which can differ from what you expect (marketplaces, wallets and booking intermediaries often re-code). Verify the code before large purchases.
